Insight Nerve Scans at Family Chiropractic Center

Insight Nerve Scans are an incredible suite of technology called that accurately assesses the health and function of your Central Nervous System. Your CNS, or neurospinal system, is composed of your brain and spinal cord.

This amazing system coordinates every bodily function. Think of it as ‘Air Traffic Control’ for your life experience!  Dr. Bruce Lipton puts it this way: “The function of the nervous system is to perceive the environment and coordinate the function of all other cells.”

Your nervous system is a two-way super highway. ‘Sensory’ nerves send information to the brain about what’s going on both inside and outside your body. ‘Motor’ nerves communicate from the brain and spinal cord telling all tissues, cells and organs what to do.

Since your body is composed of trillions of cells, much of the nervous system function occurs outside of conscious awareness, and is called the autonomic nervous system. This manages key functions: blood circulation, digestion, immune and hormonal activity, etc.

Causes of Nervous System Stress

Our daily lives include an ongoing series of challenging things that can cause an accumulation of stress in your nervous systems starting as early as birth.

  • Physical Stressors: falls, accidents, poor posture, too much sitting, time on devices, etc.
  • Chemical Stressors: environmental toxins, allergens, processed foods, alcohol, drugs, etc.
  • Mental & Emotional Stressors: work, family, economic, social and political issues which are not easily solved and persist

When these stresses exceed your body’s ability to resolve them, stuck patterns of neurological function are created. These stuck neurological distortions are called ‘Subluxations’. Externally subluxations show up as postural alterations, muscle imbalances and poorly moving segments in your spinal column. Internally they manifest as disruptions of autonomic function (dysautonomia) in such systems as digestion, circulation, hormonal and immune function, etc.

Insight scans assist us to look deeply in your neurospinal system to locate areas of subluxation and also tell us how severe they are. This helps us better understand why certain symptoms and conditions may be present. They are also an important part of a wellness checkup, helping us predict and get ahead of potential trouble before any symptoms are present.

This scan can be run on anyone from a 1-day old baby to mom or dad in a matter of minutes.  It helps us find regional effects of subluxation and dysautonomia.

Since the autonomic nervous system serves to coordinate and regulate the function of the digestive system, immune system, hormones, and so forth… this scan helps us really understand what’s going on in our patients struggling with digestive disruption, chronic or recurrent immune issues, allergies, adrenal or other hormonal dysfunction or sleep disorders.

This particular scan allows us to evaluate the ‘tone’ of the motor nerve system. EMG scans reveal stress patterns in postural muscles. This is vital for us in assessing neuromotor and neurosensory subluxations. Overloads in this system cannot only produce neck and back pain. They can play a role in disrupting mental-emotional function and producing such things as memory issues and excess anxiety. When evaluating our pediatric patients is helps us assess neurodevelopmental challenges that affect the ability to regulate emotions, behavior, learning and memory.

Heart Rate Variability scans provide a broad picture of a patient’s neurological health, telling us whether their autonomic nervous system is healthy, balanced, and fully charged, or stressed out, imbalanced, and fatigued.  Variability is the number one marker of good neurological health: the ability to be adaptable and resilient. Adaptability is the key to good health, whether talking about gut and immune health or behavioral, emotional, and cognitive health.

In our daily lives, we will encounter bacteria, viruses, physical injuries, environmental toxins, and emotional challenges. Good health is not determined by avoiding or trying to hide from these things but by being able to adapt and overcome them when we are exposed.

The Big Picture

While we will take you through each scan individually, the most important aspect of the insight scans is being able to put them all together and get a full picture of what’s going on with your nervous system and overall health! Contact Family Chiropractic Center today to get started, we look forward to assisting you to have the healthy life you deserve.
